Switzerland School ski trips: The Aletsch Arena
The Aletsch Arena is the recent combination of 3 fabulous Swiss ski resorts. There is 104km of sun drenched slopes which included Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp which have all been interconnected by an extensive array of ski lifts and trails. The vast terrain includes 11 terrain parks, half pipes and free-ride runs.
As the Aletsch region has pistes above 2500m it works particularly well for school ski groups because it has such a long season (December to May) infact last season it didn’t close until May 15th! This means that whatever time of year you traditionally take your school ski trip, Aletsch is an attractive option.
Switzerland School ski trips: Gstaad
The Gstaad ski resort boasts 58 lifts, accessing 250 km of slopes, with two snow parks, a number of sled runs and winter hiking trails. The resort is between 1000 and 3000 metres above sea level and the longest run in the region is 1600 vertical meters (more than most resorts in the North American Rocky Mountains). The resort has the only glacier ski area in the Bernese Oberland and guaranteed snow cover.
