Activ4 was founded by Steve Scott – a teacher who understood school trips from the inside out, because he’d led them himself.
Before launching the company, Steve was a teacher. He knew first-hand the excitement of taking students away – but also the logistics, the pressure and the responsibility that came with it.
That experience shaped everything. Steve knew what it felt like to balance risk assessments with group dynamics, to handle paperwork while inspiring curiosity. He didn’t just want to launch a tour company – he wanted to build a true partnership with teachers. One that would make the process easier, the outcomes stronger and the trips unforgettable.
That’s exactly what Activ4 became. A company run by people who’ve worked in education, and who understand how to create truly valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom.
That teaching insight didn’t stop with Steve. Sales Executive Ellie Dawson and Rep James Stevenson both began their careers as teachers too – bringing classroom experience and first-hand knowledge of what makes a school trip successful. It’s this shared background that continues to set Activ4 apart: a team who genuinely gets it.
Today, Activ4 is still proudly family-run. Steve’s daughters, Francesca and Grace, are now central to the team, helping shape the next chapter with the same energy and care that built the business from day one. Together, they continue a shared mission: to support teachers, empower young people and deliver school trips that are safe, seamless and genuinely inspiring.
